Dr. Meredith Binder

Dr. R. Meredith Binder grew up in Washington, D.C. and attended Middlebury College in Vermont, graduating Cum Laude with a B.A. in American Studies/American Fine Art. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked for several years with ABC television in primetime series and development. Once she realized her true passion was in fact veterinary medicine, she completed all necessary prerequisites at UCLA and was accepted into UC Davis’ Veterinary School.

Following graduation, Dr. Binder completed a one-year internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, NJ. She worked as both an Emergency and a General Practitioner before becoming Chief of Staff of a clinic in South Alexandria, VA. In 2010, Dr. Binder became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Florida. She moved to Charlotte in June 2011 where she worked for two years at Animal Medical Hospital as a staff veterinarian.

She completed training in canine rehabilitation at the Canine Rehabilitation Institutes in Florida and Colorado. Dr. Binder became a CCRT (certified canine rehabilitation therapist) in February of 2014.

Realizing animal comfort and mobility were her true passion, Dr. Binder started the Ashi Mobile Animal Acupuncture & Rehabilitative Medicine service in June 2013. She anticipates that by bringing acupuncture and rehabilitative exercises to their home, her animal patients will benefit from a more relaxed and nurturing environment.

During her free time, Dr. Binder enjoys playing bass guitar in her 2 bands and gardening. She also loves wine tasting and gourmet cooking. She has two dogs, Weenie and Tinky, and one cat, Michi.
